Time Limit
The Ultra and Relay are either 8 or 24 hours.  Solo runners and relay teams will complete as many 3.5 mile “long” loops as they can during the designated time limit.  When there are 45 minutes left on the clock, runners will not be allowed to start a new “long” loop.  At that time, a “short” 1 mile loop will start and runners can attempt to complete as many “short” loops as possible during the last 45 minutes.  Runners will not be credited for partial loops.  “Long” and “short” loops must be completed before the 8 or 24 hour time limit to count toward the solo/relay mileage total.

Relay teams will select ONE team member to run the “short” loops.  No relay member exchanges will be allowed during the “short” 1 mile loops.

Aid Station
There will be a fully stocked aid station at the start/finish area.  Different kinds of ultra food will be available as well as water, soda and sport drink.

Chip Timing
The race will utilize a chip timing system provided by IPICO Sports.  Each runner will have their own chip.  The chips will be fixed to your ankle using a velcro strap in case you need to change shoes during the race.

There will be no lap counters.  However, runners will need to make sure they cross the timing mat at the end of each loop to make sure it counts to your total.  There will be a course monitor at the start/finish to help ensure runners cross the timing mat.

Each relay team member will have their own chip nullifying the need to “pass the baton” among team members.  Any attempt at dishonesty will result in immediate disqualification.

Clydesdale Division
The 8 and 24 Hour Solo race will have a Clydesdale division.

The Clydesdale division is for male runners weighing 200 lbs. and over.

Post Race
The “post race” party will start right after the race at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.   Pulled pork BBQ with all the fixins will be provided to all race participants after the races. Drinks will be provided.  Alcohol is allowed in the park, and beer will be provided by Burnzee’s for participants over 21 years of age.

Every runner will get a sweet finishers award!  You know from last year these babies are SWEET!
